Camera (FAM - Frame, Angle, Movement) is used in the Ghost Ship opening by the use of a track shot of the ship to a birds-eye shot of the dancefloor to start the clip, which is mirrored at the end after the scenes have occurred. There is an eye line match between the singer and the waiter at the start, which shows the antagonism before the rampage that happens on the ship. There is a over the shoulder shot on a man pulling a handle, which sends the ship's party downhill, but is done to emphasise the antagonist, especially when we are unable to see the face. There is then a point of view shot on the wire as it slices through everyone, showing how bad this 'massacre' is. There is an low level shot as the girl looks up at the man as his head breaks into two and falls from above the camera.
Editing (STOPS - Screen-time, Transitions, Order, Pace, Special Effects) is used in this opening as there is a romantic pink font that displays the title of the film and the names of actors to give a perception of a romantic film before things go wrong. Throughout this clip, the singer gets the majority of the screen-time (being the antagonist) as well as the little girl (being the 'supposed' only survivor after the traumatic events. It is slow paced throughout up until the events occur, in which, it gets slower to show off the gory and all the deaths that have happened on the ship. The singer is also the only speaker in this clip.
Mise En Scene (CLAMPS - Costume, Lighting, Actors, Make-Up, Props, Setting) is used in this clip by showing everyone being well dressed in suits, dresses and uniforms. It starts with dim 'romantic' lighting, which only gets darker after the events happen on the ship as the lights cut to give a horror perception to the audience. Everyone seems happy when the party is happening on the ship until there is a sudden mood switch when the handle is pulled and the horror begins. There is champagne given to everyone to show the high class of this party. It is set on a ship, which is used to create panic when the events happen as the girl is stranded on the ship by herself.
Sound (MCDOVED - Music, Contrapuntal/Parallel, Diagetic/Non-Diagetic, Off-Screen, Voiceover, Emotion, Dialogue) is used in this clip by the woman singing to portray romance from the start. There is a pushing of a handle, waring of a wire that is louder than music, slicing noises can be heard when everyone gets sliced apart, followed by scary noises and silence by deaths and girls screaming. Diagetic noises can all the way through the clip. Emotion of girl is shown throughout (boredom to happiness to trauma).
